Damn Solar companies! lol, causing me a loss but here is my reasoning that I traded this stock below (made the mistake of trading what should be a long term investment)

I’m really getting tired of this attack on the solar industry. Yes, there are some obsticals in the way but the solar industry IS NOT GOING AWAY.   Whether you like Obama or not, he is very much likely to remain in office and is pro alternative engery liberal.

My brother in laws family owns a very large solar installation business here domestically and continues to do very well. In fact he cannot keep up with the demand he gets from hospitals and goverment buildings, not including slowly increasing residential demand.

Dropping prices are GREAT for the industry. As long as the raw materials decline on par with dropping unit prices. Inevitably there will be consolidation in the industry which I see as a great thing and fortunantly First Solar predicted the changing industry climate last year and started to navigate their business to reflect the changes.

3/9/2012 FSLR SOLD 1400 SHARES @ $27.801 ($7.71) $38,913.69

After closing out my position from 3/05/2012 I lost -$1,133.71

I then intiated my next trade which was basically getting back into FSLR

3/9/2012 FSLR BOUGHT 1400 SHARES @ $27.60 ($7.00) ($38,647.00)

Total = $18,983.87

First day of trading +$868

I have been following the casino stocks for years and I have a great track record in the past trading MGM but there seems to be more a predictable trading range in MPEL so I decided to make this my first trade:)

3/5/2012 MPEL SHORTED 2875 SHARES @ $13.281 ($7.71) $38,175.17
3/5/2012 MPEL COVERED 2875 SHARES @ $12.969 ($7.00) ($37,292.88)

My net profit of this trade was $867.58

I set up my second trade of the day by going long on a beaten down solar stock FSLR.

3/5/2012 FSLR BOUGHT 1400 SHARES @ $28.59 ($7.00) ($40,033.00)

Total = $20,117.58

Goal: Turn $19,250 into $100,000

Okay, so ussually people keep this kind of thing pretty private. Maybe out of fear of looking stupid, or fear that if they do succeed that people will know more about their personal finances. Well, not me!

I WANT people to know so that I can be held accountable for my sometimes stupid trades is one reason I am making this a pubic affair…for the 3 people that may actually follow my journey.  My goals are as follows:

  • Deposit $19,250 into trading account.
  • Trade my way to $25,000: This is a major milestone so that I may trade freely w/o restriction.
  • Hit my first major goal of $40,000. lmportant to me for it represents short term financial freedom for me.
  • Trade my way to $100,000.
  • Trade up to $1,000,000 (my wet dream goal)

SLC Police: Setting a new standard of excellence.

So, this little story out of Utah came out this week, about Utah’s finest, stating that they will be setting a new quotta of writing tickets each week. You ready for it, its an enormous number. . . Ok wait for it. . . . . . One ticket per week! Are you fucking kidding me?

This massive increase from zero comes as a direct result of a few, in my opinion, lazy ass bastards that have somehow managed to go more than a year without busting out the ticket pad. In the course of my day I see a dozen people worthy of a ticket and a few probably needing a beating that would make Rodney King cringe.

DADT’s Slippery Slope

It’s pretty amazing how much our President is getting done in his administration.  Today he signed into law that Gay persons have the right to serve loud and proud in our military.

Great, sounds good right? I’m not so sure. I listened as Generals and other old wankers sounded off about needing to read the impact of the study that was being conducted on the subject. Fine, whatever . . .

This is my concern; would you be willing to allow men and woman to live Co-ed style, in the same barracks and shower amongst one another? The answer is NO! No matter how progressive you might be.  Are gay men some kind of Saints?  If you were taking a shower amongst women, would you not look if you were a straight man even if only out of the corners of your eyes?

Are you getting my point? If not let me clarify- All I’m saying is we need to be more open in this country. A country where gay men are forced to shower with other men. A country where men live amongst women during basic training. A country where women can walk freely about without there top on. Hey, why not, men can do it in most places.[ LOL @ myself:-)]

I would love to be a gay man right now. If I were gay and didn’t have a lot going on in the next four years I might just sign up. Or since I’m not gay my straight equivalent to that would be to join an all lesbian fraternity. Yes I know they don’t like men, but hey, looking doesn’t hurt them right? Just ask one of our countries finest, behind closed doors, the next time you see one.

Just make sure its not closet doors;-)

“CEO Pay too high” – Ben Affleck

A well known economist and so so actor, Ben Affleck, commented yesterday that at 200x the average workers pay, CEO’s pay has gotten out of hand and should remain what he says it used to be at 9x the average salary.  Lets just forget the fact these companies are ten times the size they used to be for a sec.

Even though he is too liberal for my blood and all kidding aside, Affleck has proven himself a leading Hollywood man but why he feels the need to be hypocritical is beyond me.

One important person responsible for behind the scenes work in getting a movie made is a Grip.  A grips salray is about $50,000 per year and they may work on a movie for 6 months at a time; the same amount of time say a leading actor like Ben Affleck might do.  Well lets do the math on that shall we:

$25,000

x 200

________

=$5,000,000

HEY NOW! Hold on a darn second. . . Isn’t that what HALF the amount that Affeck is making per film these days?  Sounds to me like he is doing well for himself. Good for him though, he deserves it. Just like a 62 year old CEO who has worked his ass off for 40 years to get to that point.  And Mr CEO man is running a company of tens of thousands of people for the entire year, not a few hundred 6 months at a time.

I’m not going to get into the other sides argument about why a bank CEO should not be making the salaries they do. Keeping it short today, I don’t have the time.

Health Care Summit

So who “won” the health care summit today? 

Some things I noticed first before I answer this question. Well I see that Obama brings an arrogance by addressing everyone by first name.  He did do well in establishing that he is the new Jefe’ in town; allthough a year too late.   I understand both sides and would love to see all the bullshit to stop coming out of there mouths. 

My solution: Drop all the scumbags on wellfare who DON’T want to work. You know, all you lazy bastards who milk the system  and give their coverage to the lower middle class persons who just can’t quite afford heath coverage. 

Point is that you have a choice.  Nobody holds a gun to your head and makes you work at that small business that can’t afford to offer you insurance.  If you work for yourself and find it hard to come across affordable insurance; then go work part time at McDonalds and get yourself some coverage!  Do what you have to do but stop counting on the damn government and other tax payers to bail your helpless ass out.

Oh, and about that question… They are just playing a game of tic-tac-toe, where nobody wins and everybody loses.

Shitfornia- AKA California

Not the other way around either.

California really is going down the shitter.  It’s been on this path my entire life.  I love this friggin state.  I love what it was, what it can, and what it should be.  Most people are in the same boat as me but are feeling forced out by government miss managing basically everything.  Education, spending, immigration, the environment, immigration, spending, oh and did I mention immigration and spending!

How they fuck things up so bad is beyond me.  I think that I will be voting for Meg Whitman come November.  Even though she didn’t vote before 2003 or some shit like that (you google it!) she did run a company capable of making a ROI.  Screw Jerry Brown.  What the hell is he doing trying to recapture his youth at the cost of Californians?
